Rating System

Everyone has their own idea on how to rate things. Some rate by numbers, sticker charts, or something else they identify with. I personally rate the books I read using a classic system of stars. I rate on a scale of 1-5 stars the rating 1 star being the worst and 5 stars being the best. I feel the need to discuss what the number of stars given means in my head, to paint a clear picture in your heads of what my ratings mean.

1 Star: Bad. I personally didn't enjoy the book. I will go out of my way not to read it again and if someone were to ask about this book I would not recommend it. I will probably not read another book by this author.

2 Stars: It was "meh", I was disinterested and feel there is room for improvement but I did like a few aspects of the book. I wouldn't recommend it but might consider giving the author another chance if I read enough good reviews or if someone that knows me well recommends a different book by this writer to me.

3 Stars: I liked the book, but it was an average read. Not necessarily a bad thing, yet nothing that really stood out to me. If available I would read other books by this author if they sound good. I would recommend this book.

4 Stars: The book was great! I could find very few things that personally displeased me. I would read this book again, and look for other books by this author. I would recommend this book!

5 Stars: I loved this book! I read it cover to cover totally infatuated with everything going on. It was well developed and if I don't already own it, I will soon. I will look into other books by this author and I will definitely be reading this book again sometime. READ THIS BOOK!

Hopefully this gives people a better understanding of the ratings I give. This rating scale is pretty simple and easy to use. Every now and then I'll be going back and forth between rating something and put "3.5 Stars" or "2.5 Stars" or something similar for my final rate. This simply means I am torn between ratings and it's somewhere in the middle of two classifications. That is as complicated as it gets ladies and gents! Hopefully this furthers your understanding of my rating system.
