Line of Scrimmage by Desiree Holt

FOOTBALL PLAYERS FOR DAAAYYYYYYYSSSS!!!!!

You know that relaxed and peaceful feeling you get after reading a fun, happy, flirty, feel-good book? Yup, I'm there. Nothing like a book that does that and combines it with a story about a drop-dead sexy football player. Can't help it. I have a weakness for jocks. It's the uniforms. The book was a pleasant surprise. I have never read anything by this author so going in I was expecting just an OK read to fill my spare time with. What I wasn't expecting was a book that held my interest, had a great storyline, some awesome characters, and was sexy too! But that sure as hell is was I got. I powered through this book in just a few hours laughing and giggling the whole way through. Desiree Holt must one witty gal because that's what shows in her writing. Erin and Jake are great characters and you really do feel their chemistry, the book really pulls you in right from the opening line. Well done Desiree Holt, well done!

This book is not without flaw, but the goods outweigh the bads by far. So the main male character is a little grumpy? He is laid up! Good reason to be a little grumpy! So the female main character is a little typical and too pessimistic about football players all because of one ex? That's not unheard-of. Plus, I'd be pissy if this Trace guy screwed me over too. The flaws are there but they're small and most of it is personal opinion. If there were any editing flaws I didn't catch them. Like I said the story is good, the characters are great, and the book is well put together. You can also tell that the author is a football fan because there were no mistakes made such as calling a touchdown, a home-run or anything like that. Thank you sweet baby Jesus! As a football fan myself that was important to me. The terms were all used correctly and it was much appreciated.

My overall score for this book is 4 Stars. I just enjoyed that this book made me smile and laugh. It made a good impression of the author and I will definitely look into some of her other books. I really do recommend reading this book. It fixes a bad mood like WD-40 fixes squeaky door hinges.
An advanced readers copy was provided to me by the publishers in exchange for a honest review. This has in no was effected my rating on this book or the overall review.
